Sigma Kappa was struggling to recruit new members so they left campus and never returned. 1992 was the last year sorority recruitment was held in August before classes started. Up to that point many first year pnms entered recruitment not knowing chapter reputation and simply went where they were comfortable. This helped the middle and lower tier chapters. Once recruitment moved to January, most of these chapters immediately started struggling and eventually leaving or reorging: SK, AGD, ZTA, PM, ASA, and SSS all had to close with only ZTA and PM ever having returned. KD, ADPi, and APhi (yes they were in this group) were the only survivors.
