Actually, if you go underground, dues would go way down. Nationals payments are like 25% of the dues. But, if you go underground, you get no protection from nationals, no protection from the school (however little that may be), no formal rush, and the embarrassment of getting kicked off. It's better to just deal with the system and stay on good terms.
