Rushing as a sophomore can be easier. I’ve known a few people who were great girls (cute, sweet, good grades, etc) and seemed to have it all on paper but fell through the cracks when they went through freshman year. The ones who went through as sophomores got bids and were happy with them, because they had friends already in the houses who knew they would be great sisters and pulled for them. Recruitment can be really brutal for girls who don’t already have inside connections and are introverts and/or wonderful friends and confidantes but not super outgoing conversationalists. I would encourage anyone who had a bad experience but has since made friends in the houses and is more familiar with how to play the game to go through again.
