The only fraternities not really worth rushing are TKE and Chi Psi. Not so much because they're bad but more because they're not getting better. There are plenty of fraternities that accept northern guys. In fact, a lot of the "northern" fraternities are beginning to improve rapidly. The ones that only accept guys from Greeneville SC or further south are pompous and overrated. The more northern ones are DX, DTD, Phi Tau and most of the ones considered "middle" on here. I know DTD seems to be getting progressively worse while DX and PKT are getting better. Both had really good pledge classes this fall. PKT is beginning to veer towards the south but the others seem to be consistent. I know beta, Phi delt, and lambda don't seem to mind northern dudes even though they're mainly southern. Any fraternity will be fun. Go meet the guys and go somewhere that you'll feel you can hang with them. If you get a bad vibe it's probably for a reason. I talked to all the southern fraternity men and didn't feel like they were the kind of people I wanted to hang around (and I'm definitely from the south). It's 100% your preference
