-Kappa Sigma and Pike were both very successful colonies. -In 1985 Beta Theta Pi was instantly a top house. -Sigma Pi started out strong when they colonized. -When Delta Chi first started it was a top house. -Theta Chi was started by a transfer from San Jose State University who went to the dorms after rush and asked who wanted to join a fraternity. He got about 15 to 20 guys and they pretty quickly became a top house. So yeah it happens, the real challenge is staying on top without flaming out.
