The concept of fully rogue fraternities is sorta new and not exactly widespread, but law enforcement and communities are starting to leverage gang legislation to shut them down and push them out of their neighborhoods. The legal definition of gang varies by state and municipality but the basic throughline is: - an organization with a shared goal or purpose - a documented pattern of criminal activity or infractions, and - an identifying name, insignia, sign, or symbol for the group The penalties also vary but can range from a simple gang injunction, punishable by imprisonment for failure to comply, to felony criminal prosecutions and asset forfeiture. Again, this isn't exactly common but local law enforcement, neighborhood councils, community associations, NIMBY homeowners, city council people and aldermen, and what not are definitely strategizing legal ways to punish rogue fraternities in the harshest possible manner, and to make an example out of them
