@startanewsorority-First of all, I'm sorry that your recruitment experience here at LBSU did not find you what you believe would be your "perfect home." Relationships and friendships take time and work so I'm sorry that you made the decision to "suicide" and decline your snap bid. The group that extended a snap bid to you did see you worthy to be a new member. While it is true that most will not be eligible for spring recruitment due to their total numbers, hopefully a group that you were considering will be holding spring recruitment. I have to agree with @?'s explanation that our current chapters do fit the needs of the campus by providing a diverse array of Greek life organizations at LBSU. Perhaps permitting groups to take a larger new member class should be considered as well though the new member classes are likely being held at the mid-thirty number to allow the groups who have traditionally struggled to try and meet quota. Also Greek Life at LBSU should not be compared to a SEC (South Eastern Conference) school like Alabama. While they do have a smaller campus population, Greek Life there has always had a significant presence at that campus with strong alumni support unlike LBSU. I hate to disappoint you but at this point in time, LBSU and our campus Panhellenic is not likely to be open to new groups to colonize. With Sigma Kappa returning in the mid-1980's and Zeta Tau Alpha's recent return, there are now eight Panhellenic groups on campus. National Panhellenic is not likely to consider this campus to be "Greek Life friendly" and ready to take on another new group considering that ZTA has only returned in recent years. NPC groups have to look for campuses that are open to new colonies and then must invest heavily in them to ensure success. Finally keep in mind that while you can't change a NPC group's fixed items: philanthropy, colors, symbols etc...you can have a positive impact on the group's culture. By joining a group that considered you worthy for a bid, you can be a force for change with like minded members. In closing, good luck to you and I hope that in the future you will find a "perfect home."
