MY STORY

<strong>Subject:</strong><br />my rush story<br /><br /> Poster Message:
I've been out of college a couple of years so I can objectively tell my story: I was a transfer student from a local community college. I already knew a lot about the sororities. I didn't really see myself as a sorority girl, but I gave it a try. I really liked Alpha Phi, but I heard that they cut girls who are juniors. I don't regret that choice, because it gave me a chance to spend extra time at a sorority I probably would have dropped. I will never know if they would have dropped me or not, but I'm okay with that. I still really like a lot of girls in Alpha Phi, but as a junior transfer, I know I did the right thing dropping. I ended up dropping Gamma Phi Beta after Day 2, cause I liked them a lot, but as a 21 year old, I didn't see myself in that sorority, even though they have older girls and are really cool. Again, I don't know if they dropped me or not. On the second day I also dropped DZ cause I'm not super academic, and I didn't want pressure to nail the best internship and get a 4.0 every semester. People thought I was crazy for dropping the top 3, but I have no regrets. They are great sororities buy not for me. So I chose a sorority that is consider "lower middle tier." And I have no regrets. I just felt that I could be myself in this sorority, and I even met my fiancé at a social event. So there is my story. I really recommend going in and finding the best fit for you. Once you are in, nobody cares about tiers. All the sororities get along really well, and it is a nice place to be. I still hang with my sorority sisters and am so glad I joined. Best of luck in Rush.
