Recruitment is a rather "fake" situation. Large campus or a small one, it doesn't matter as the timeline only allows the PNMs and the sisters a very short time together. No matter the size of the chapter, you will not be able to get an absolute, defined and complete picture of each group within a week or a few days with some rather short conversations. Each group is going to try and share their sisterhood with you, but not every group will appeal to you. All the sororities can do is try to give you the best possible impression of themselves via their recruitment videos, social media, conversations with PNMs and presentations about their chapters In turn the PNMs are trying to do the same thing via their applications, photos, social media and their interaction with the sisters. It does require a level of trust and faith on both sides. They can try to give you an impression of their sisterhood, but again it can be difficult to convey after hours of conversations and smiling non-stop. It's overwhelming for PNMs as well! Again, I'm very sorry that your recruitment at CSULB didn't work out for you. To be honest, I'm not sure that going through recruitment at a larger campus with a more high profile Greek Life, is going to deliver the "genuine sisterhood" that you were expecting to find over a period of a few days. After all that will mean a schedule with less time and more groups to meet. In the end, I wish you well and hope that you find an on campus group that you want to join. Good luck
