I personally know an amazing girl that was dropped by all but two houses last fall and ended up pledging one of the top houses through COB. Formal recruitment is too rushed and dependent on hitting a great conversation with someone. If you randomly end up talking to a girl with shared interests or life experiences, then you have a leg up in getting a bid. Sometimes you have good convos, but none that make you a top PNM for the house. Don't give up. Get to know girls in the different houses from your dorms or social groups and try again through COB.
