just because there are more fraternities than sororities doesn't mean that multiple sororities need to be added. That's not how sorority expansion works. There has to be need on campus for another group, which there is (somewhat) because sororities are getting too big. There's too many members in each house to accommodate. BUT, that being said, this has been a bad year. A LOT of groups have had girls drop because a lot of girls this year were wishy-washy about joining a group and just wanted to try it out. So, not only does there need to be need to expand, you have to make sure a new group can survive and grow, before the nationals invest all the money in a colony. Sorority expansion is MUCH MUCH more expensive than fraternity expansion, especially when securing equivalent facilities are in the mix, like they are at Tech, because no new sorority would survive without a house.
