Every sorority here takes sophomores if they are deemed a good fit. The rumors come from pnm's who get dropped and want to have an excuse, and then are perpetuated by sorority members who don't know any better but think it makes them sound more exclusive. Pnm's never know why a house releases them, and it is hard to take, but it had nothing to do with you being a second year. I am sorry it didn't work out for you, and it doesn't mean they didn't like you, just that others were a better fit. But there were two sororities asking you to pref that were prepared to offer you a bid.
