PNMs are normally between 17-22 years old, thus the community-at-large has known them or known of them for the same duration. Familiarity can breed quick decisions by sorority women during recruitment. Any pnm attending ALL her invitational parties and listing ALL her pref groups on her pref card will receive a bid. Sororities and recruitment counselors strongly encourage pnms to keep an open mind and rank/attend all sorority parties to which they are invited. This is recommended because sororities hold majority choice on whom they invite and bid, but a pnm only chooses which group(s) she wishes would invite her. Be grateful recruitment isn't like the old days, back when sororities didn't host an all-sorority first party for all pnms and women had to have a specific invite just to start the recruitment process in a home.
