i know where you’ve been. as stupid as it sounds, I went into a depressive episode last year because I was cut by a sorority that all my upperclassmen friends were in. it didn’t help that all my close friends got in and we’re constantly posting about it or ditching me for events. like you, I was lead on and completely blindsided when I was cut. I joined another sorority and I honestly regret it. People told me to give it a chance and I really did, but I just never fit in. most of my friends are still in the other sorority and I just can’t form friendships with girls in the one I’m in. and ngl I’m jealous when I see the fun things they get to do and the way guys look at them when they say what sorority they’re in (versus the look they give me). it sucks. my advice is to try it out but don’t make the mistake I did and initiate if you’re not feeling it. even if you don’t rush again next year, you’re better off not spending all that money on a sorority that you’re hearts not fully in. and people will treat you differently if you’re in a bottom sorority so you’re better off being non affiliated
