First, you get naked. Then, the brothers herd all the pledges into a small group in the party room. All the brothers stand around the perimeter, with the pledges in the middle. The pledge trainer coats a volleyball in black paint. The brothers, wearing latex gloves, throw the ball as hard as they can into the group. This goes on for about 5 minutes, with the pledge trainer re-coating the ball with paint every minute or two. Then 3 brothers, with the pledge trainer, inspect all the pledges. Any pledge who could not successfully protect his private parts during this torture is relieved of his pledgeship.
