Think of it this way: "They" are not stopping you. YOU stopped you when you signed the binding agreement on pref night. And as the poster above pointed out, Alpha Phi is not stopping you from "joining" them...they are stopping THEMSELVES from offering you a BID to join b/c they have a unanimous agreement with the rest of the 25 other NPC sororities that they will not offer bids to women who entered into binding agreements with another sorority for a FULL CALENDAR YEAR.
