Simply by your repeated use of the word “frat” your reveal yourself to be either a GDI or a TKE. As a member of a fraternity who puts a considerable amount of time towards sing, I spent hours practicing with brothers who are engineering students, pre-med and honors. You’re correct in that fraternities shouldn’t be judged by their ability to win these Baylor-oriented activities, however typically the type of guys who join these groups have the ambition and the drive to do well in all that they do. This ambitious mindset equates to success in almost all aspects meaning they are “top-tier”. They don’t let their fragile masculinity get in the way of having a blast singing a dancing or decorating a trailer either. Don’t let your bitterness about not participating in some of the university’s greatest traditions blind you. If you knew half as much as you pretend you do, you wouldn’t be in the sorry house (or non-house) that you’re in. I personally am an IFC guy, but get real. We compete with these groups to a certain extent and continued denial only hurts those chapters and brothers who don’t see that.
