I heard it was a because they didn't have high enough return rates during recruitment to drop a lot of girls. When that happens they can't be selective. Apparently, AOII had higher return rates than usual allowing them to drop more girls than years past (a friend told close to 60 each day) and were more selective. So as a result, Phi Mu ended up getting every girl that AOII didn't want after pref (that obviously went to Phi Mu & AOII on pref) and even the girls they dropped earlier in the week ended up at KD or Phi Mu. Of course, as I could imagine, a majority of Phi Mu's new pledge class truly wanted Phi Mu, but they obviously did not expect to get stuck with a pledge class of almost 100. This could truly be a great experience for them as a growing chapter on campus!
