Say it sista, Ms. sororityty! Everything you said is true. The last thing in sorority life is being in a house where you may be disappointed in their status versus the sororities that offer the best of everything. Feelings of jealousy will pop up and they really do. College is supposed to be the time of your life before buckling down for real world expectations. If your main focus is partying, then every sorority offers that. But, if your main focus is being the best version of yourself, then being part of the best sorority really matters. The top houses, ADPi, ChiO and Tri Sigma, have held their positions as the best for years. There is a reason for that. That reason being the standards they hold their members to that have not changed for years. AXiD, DZ and APhi will offer most of what the best do but there are jealousies of "Why aren't we the best?". Prestige is part of life. Why limit yourself to 2nd place. Second place is the first loser and don't think 2nd place helps you in the real world. You want to be the best candidate for the job, right? Well, think of sorority life as a job. You have certain obligations and responsibilities. Why not learn these things from the best, use it as a stepping stone for the real world, and be a real winner in life? Mediocre rarely lets you win and leaves room for huge disappointments. Remember, with an average life expectancy of 80, you have another 58 years to get through. If that does bring life into perspective, I don't know what does.
