<strong>Subject:</strong><br />Addressing SA in fraternity<br /><br /> Poster Message:
To preface, I was not at the SNU Xmas party and do not know the accused personally. However if what people are saying is true (SA was committed) and he has not been kicked out of the fraternity (like a less-involved member who was removed this semester for an older incident) then SNU should simply not be allowed to host rush nor any social events until this is cleared up. There is no exception to be had just because he is “well-liked” or rush chair- there NEEDS to be some sort of repercussion and reprimands for those who commit any form of SA. This goes for any and every frat— no exceptions. If the frats (mine included) and IFC don’t shape up their act soon, Greek life at Duke will cease to exist after one lawsuit. At the end of the day, even though frats bring a lot of benefits to social life at Duke, they will never be a net positive as long as SA runs rampant throughout organizations. Change must take place. This is unacceptable.
