rush rules?

Poster Message:
I am not being judgmental here. Women like their system and the men like theirs. No one is pushing for change. But you asked. Fraternity rush is wide open. Fraternities can rise or fall depending on how ambitious they are and how hard they work to recruit. Fraternities can be as large or as small as they want. In contrast, sororities are prohibited from pledging more than a certain number determined by PanHellenic. Sororities cannot be larger than a certain number determined by PanHellenic. Fall recruitment is very structured: no sorority can pledge any woman except through formal rush. Every PNM is required to go through every sorority house so no one can hide rushees, or rush over the summer, or talk to PNMs in advance. That is why the top five never drop and the bottom five never get better relative to the whole sorority system. To be blunt, if you were car shopping and every car on every lot costs the same, why would you not choose a Mercedes over a Kia?
