Not really true. I rushed as a sophomore and was very involved in high school but didn't do anything my freshman year. The first year I rushed as a freshman I was very unhappy with the outcome, but when I rushed as a sophomore I was loved the sorority I got. But involvement will never look bad! Plus it's a good way to make friends and stay occupied this year. They look at the same things in a sophomore that they do in a freshman.
