"What to Wear" on the panhellenic recruitment site tells you what you need to know. Do not try to fit some image of what you think a sorority is looking for. You need to be true to yourself and your best look for your own vibe, otherwise you will sabotage your rush. Don't do something drastically different with makeup or hair or clothes that you don't normally do. If you wear your hair curly then don't straighten it for rush. Or color it if you don't normally. If you're a natural girl then keep that, don't adopt some glam makeup look that's not you. Don't worry about certain brands or trends to impress us, unless you are normally that way. Be your best YOU. Wear what is flattering to your body and your personality - wear the clothes and the look, don't let them wear you. Make sure your clothes fit and that you won't be fidgeting, pulling, tugging, readjusting, chafed, or otherwise uncomfortable, otherwise you will be distracted and that will affect your demeanor and your conversations. Strapless anything will do that to you, just don't. Also I have personally never seen a romper that looked good on anyone IRL. Remember too, that you might have to sit on the floor in a house, and get up from the floor too. How's that going to look for you in your outfit... For your bag: it is hot and humid and if you're not from around here or the South you have no idea, so a personal fan, blotting papers for your face, makeup setting spray, and something to keep your hair from frizzing (I use a gel product on mine in the shower after conditioning, and mix the gel with water and don't rinse out). Mole skin for your feet. Breath mints. Also very important: something to take notes with - make some notes at the first chance you get of your impressions of every house, anything that comes to mind. You won't remember later and you'll get confused.
