A lot of frats are in bad financial situations right now. The PiKap incident and resulting suspension lowered rush numbers in spring (smaller PCs = less dues paid) and many active brothers went inactive (less dues paid) because frats really haven’t been able to do what they want socially since. Despite being suspended frats still have to pay their national dues, IFC dues, and other fixed costs like rent. Not to mention fraternities are paying for the new FSU and IFC employees that were mandated after the PiKap incident who’s job descriptions are basically to find ways to kick them off. Income is down, costs are up.
