I think a lot of this is based on homecoming pairings. The problem with this is that the so called top 5 frats always pair up with the same 5 sororities. Therefore it gives the illusion that these 5 sororites are the "best". You are right, the rankings should be changed to reflect the things that really matter (involvement, sisterhood, niceness of members, looks, pledge classes +) Some of the so called "Top 5" frats aren't allowed to date or associate with girls in the mid-tier. It's really sad and definitely not right. I think some of this could be solved if there was a rule that homecoming pairings were randomly chosen, but until this happens, expect more of the same.
