Most chapters do not have winter rush. "Winter rush" is actually continuous open bidding, which is what happens when a chapter doesn't get enough women during recruitment or their numbers become low due to women dropping. Like the person above me said, the top tier chapters are very quiet during open bidding if they do have it - they already know which girls they want to extend a bid to. I know a few girls who went through the process looking for DZ/DG/APhi. They didn't have open minds, and ranked every middle and lower tier sorority quite low. What ended up happening is that they were dropped by the top three, and since the middle tier sororities usually don't call back people who dropped them, the girls were left with lower tier chapters - those chapters often call girls back, even if the girls drop them, because they need numbers. Do not go into this with a closed mind. You will be disappointed.
