Clearly this person is not in greek life... yearly dues are mostly well below a thousand dollars and members can have individual payment plans that fit their financial needs. Depaul is a city school meaning it doesn't have the campus community that a lot of people strive for in college. Joining Greek life gives you that community and the opportunities to meet hundreds of great people that you would never have met otherwise. The people who choose to actually get involved in Greek life will tell you they have made many real friends and have found a place at Depaul where they feel at home.
