It is mostly true, but dg/theta both took at least one person last year who was cut in 2018, so it is possible to successfully re-rush. However, it is much, much, much more common for girls to have waaaayyyy less options as sophomores than they had as first years. I know girls with tons of friends in sororities who were dropped when they rerushed, but sophomores with no friends in the chapter getting in is more rare. For first years, having little to no friends in the chapter is the norm. Sororities do keep track of who rushed before, whether they were dropped, and why they were dropped. First-years always get priority over sophomores, because they chapter can keep them longer.
