Frats v sororities

Subject:
frats v sororitys: which have greater rivalries?

Poster Message:
I am a freshman guy who is thinking about rushing sophomore for a fraternity and I recently came across Greekrank for the first time today. I notice that lots of sororities' pages at Columbia have more hate-filled messages than fraternities do. Is it because there is more intense rivalry for pledges during recruitment for sororities since there are fewer sororities than fraternities at Columbia? Or is it this way year long between sororities? I would have thought that because there were more fraternities than sororities, fraternities would have more rivalry among themselves to get date nights with the few sororities on campus. Just curious. Thanks for any input. K.P.
