Subject:
can sororities be more transparent?

Poster Message:
I read the last post on here and I genuinely don't want some sort of catty argument between the "top" and "bottom" houses, but can we have a general consensus that sororities need to be more transparent about the recruitment process? It is wrong to fuel hope and expectations into women who genuinely believed they had a chance to get into theta/dg after the first round as there is already a predetermined list of girls who are either from one socioeconomic background or have connections in theta/dg. There is no way that a PNM is judged on a brief 10 minute talk to determine whether she "fits" in. TBH, I also went through recruitment this year and I dropped before development day realizing how I genuinely felt a connection between the dg girls and did not even get invited for the second round. I don't have an instagram account and don't ever use facebook so I had no idea how important social media is for this process. I just really connected well with the two girls I spoke to at DG and trust me, I had no idea they were the "top" house until after talking to some other PNMs.
