I'm also (probably) in one of the two sororities you considered "undesirable," and I also struggled with an eating disorder. I was picked up by other houses on dev day but went with my chapter bc it was where I felt most loved and accepted. I want sisters who love me no matter what I look like. HOWEVER there are women like this in every sorority. No sorority is all size 0 and no sorority would ever bring up your weight in recruitment discussions. My mental health and self esteem have gone way up since joining my "undesirable" organization. My "undesirable" organization was my first choice all the way through recruitment, and I chose it over what you consider a more "desirable" house on pref night. Why? Easy. I know myself and I knew where I fit in, which I'm sure is the reason most women join the sororities they end up in. I know it's hard to admit that maybe you weren't invited back somewhere because of your personality, but it's not a personal judgment - sometimes you just don't click. I truly hope you can go through recruitment next year with a better attitude and more open mind, because the vast majority of sororities that dropped you will drop you again next year.
