First of all a house being "top" isn't a direct reflection on the girls in the house. All the houses have all different types of girls, yet they all have a distinct personality (like when I say Pi Phi, you probably think more of a earthy, free-spirit gal and when I say XO, you probably see a loud, vivacious, pageant girl; are both types of girls in each house? Of course! But each house has a "vibe" or "image" that majority of students see when they think of whatever house). All the houses at the U of A are good houses with good people, I think when people say "Top House" they are referring to how the house preforms on campus. From what I have noticed, "Top Houses" almost directly correspond with the houses with top GPAs. (Because Greek Gals are SMART and value their GPAs!!) Also houses that consistently place high in campus events, e.g. Derby Days, Carol of the Greeks, CANstruction, etc., are viewed as "TOP" because they are winning events. I guess it could also have to do with the rush quotas, etc. Everybody thinks their own house is the top, so it is objective. But I think GPA is the best indicator on who is considered "TOP". Honestly, it doesn't really matter.
