This is so true. One of my friends wanted KKG really badly (not sure why, she wasn't a legacy and didn't know anyone here) but her parents "donated" a large sum of money to the chapter and sent gifts over the summer, so she got a bid. She regrets going Kappa because she feels like an outcast because everyone kind of already knows each other. She had great convos during rush but after that, the girls who recruited her ignored her. My point is that real connections are typically formed over a long period of time (family friends, going to the same summer camp, same school etc.) Following on insta may give you a chance but to be so real there were so many girls I followed/followed me that I did not even remember any to pull for when recruitment came around.
