Forcing girls to live in house doesn’t really happen. Every chapter will make girls sign some type of contract obligating them to live in house if there’s open spots, but that’s just a formality. Even if a chapter can’t fill spots, they most likely just charge extra fees. In fact, getting to live in house is competitive for most sororities. Living in house is cheaper that apartments like the reply above said. It is also super convenient to be on campus with food provided. If you still don’t want to live in house, sign a lease as soon as it opens so you get the lowest rent possible.
