Why do retention rates matter? If ABC can cut 1000 girls first round and FGH can cut 500 then ABC is gonna look like it’s more popular. Never mind the fact that those same 1000 girls they cut actually might have ranked them on the bottom. Shouldn’t panhellenic look at who PNMs rank lowest to determine rates for the following year? There’s no way certain “top” houses are ever going to be considered bottom if they are always given huge cuts and no one bothers to see that a lot of those cuts were mutual. A sorority can be not liked at all and have PNMs rank them low but it’ll never matter because the retention rates are going to look good because of the huge cuts they are given.
