PNMs, please be respectful when attending parties even if you don't think you are interested in the house. You never know and you just might change your mind. Actives are up by 5-6am, starting parties as early as 7:30 and not finishing for the day until 8 or 9pm or who knows when this year with so many pnms!- then doing it again the next day, and the next, etc. Where you only have a few parties a day and then get to go back to your room and relax, we don't get to do that. So please be nice. We're all tired and doing our very best to be welcoming and get to know everyone who walks through our door. Also, a lot of the girls you will speaking to were in your shoes just last year. They'll be just as nervous as you are!! Don't judge the whole house off of one person you speak to, they just may be overly nervous - or overly exhausted. We also had work week the week prior so we're already tired by the first party. Have patience and understanding with us as we are trying our best. Also, please be respectful to your gamma chi! They are having very long, hard days as well. It can be very emotional for them, especially if they hear pnms speaking badly about their house. It happens, they know it will happen, but it still is hard to hear. Just because you've convinced yourself you know what house she is in, don't be so sure. My group just knew our gamma chi was ADPI my rush year and she turned out to be a Pi Phi! You just never know. They'll probably have pretty large groups this year with so many pnms. They are responsible for keeping up with you, your schedule, making sure you are at all of your parties - because if you're not, you get dropped out of recruitment. They also will be your support system, your shoulder to cry on, and if you get cut by all houses for some reason, they have to break the news to you. It's a very emotional process for them as well.
