Every single house has identified some pnm's they definitely want (and some they do not want). Actives already know some pnm's from their high schools or home towns or friends of friends etc. and some pnm's they are really interested in from SM and/or resume, so yeah, those pnm's are on the houses' radar for sure. But no house can pick out their entire new member class ahead of time (or actually wants to), because three major things have to happen for any of these pnm's to actually get on the bid list or get a bid: 1) meeting pnm's in person for the chapter to see and interact with them, because sometimes desired pnm's will ruin it for themselves in person with their attitude or personality or they aren't anything like their SM, and some pnm's who weren't on the radar before will show up in person and blow everyone away and end up as favorites; 2) membership selection is a chapter decision as a whole, so just because a pnm is identified and liked by some actives doesn't mean the other chapter members will feel the same (if a sister I don't like or respect really likes a certain pnm then I am going to have my doubts and might vote against that pnm and encourage my friend group to do the same); 3) pnm's who are highly desired will have some say-so in their rankings of houses, so even though we want them back, they might not rank us as highly. These things go on every year in every chapter for every recruitment, and there is absolutely nothing a pnm can do about it, so every pnm should focus on herself and the things she can control.
