Yes…being promised a bid happens even though it’s supposedly not allowed. I was promised a bid to Zeta, and my heart was set on it. I thought it was a go fo me…they all acted like it I was in. Only to find out I was cut right before pref. Having to go through pref with 2 sororities I thought I wasn’t going to be in was weird. No time for healing… no explanation…just ghosting from the girls who promised me the bid. I honestly think it happened so they stay in control of who they keep around instead of you dropping them.
