Please use the correct words: 1. Snap bids = when a chapter does not match to quota and they “snap” up PNM’s (or girls who didn’t even rush) and offer them bids to get up to quota. Snap bids can ONLY happen during the hours between bid matching and bid day starting. 2. COB = Continuous Open Bidding. Any chapter below chapter total may continue to extend bids throughout the semester. Total is reset each semester as membership counts change due to transfers, early grads, study abroad, and new member classes. Some chapters host COB events (invitation-only events both informal/casual and a Pref-type ceremony). Others will just extend a bid directly to a girl who is friends with tons of actives. If you are talking about chapters offering a special bid to women at any time other than the hours between bid match & bid day, you are talking about COB. Not snaps.
