I came into recruitment with some small connections to a few houses and was cut from kappa and chi o first round (no surprise there). But fell in love with a top house here without connections and they kept me throughout the whole week, even on pref. On bid day I expected to see their name on my card, but it was another house (that I still liked, but didn't have the same connection with), even though I preffed my first choice - obviously. so yeah that also happens in recruitment - not often, but it definitely does. I was super hurt about it and didn't get over it for a long time, but I'm happy with the house I ended up with, but honestly I think I'd be happy with my first choice too.
