I think it depends on how involved your mom/sister is/was. An alum from a school other than Arkansas doesn't weigh as heavily as one who graduated from here. A sister who joined a house and then dropped out sophomore year doesn't weigh as heavily as one that was an officer, etc. Is your mom/sister actively involved in drumming up support letters from her pledge sisters on your behalf? Is your mom/sister meeting with her alumnae group this summer to discuss recruitment? Is she trying to network with active members so they know about you and your interest? These are just some ideas on how to leverage your legacy status in a sea of legacies.
