Rushmom, what house on this campus bullies others? The houses on this campus foster involvement, leadership, and love for their sisters and greek community. I think it is naive to believe that leaving high school means the end to all immaturity. The students on campus are emerging adults and have a lot of growing up left to do. You are right, a part of growing up is accepting others, but clearly not everyone has come to that point in their development as soon as they enter college. A part of growing up also involves learning to identify people who share your values and creating distance from those who don't. You will not get along with everyone no matter what part of life you are in. I think it is also naive to believe that every negative post on this site comes solely from a member of the greek community. There are plenty of negative comments being made from those not in a sorority or fraternity. If you use this site as your means to judge sororities and fraternities at any university you won't get an accurate representation, just the same if you were to use movies as a way to understand greek life. The houses on this campus do a lot of good for their communities as well as their members during college and after when they start their careers. I wish your daughter luck. I'm sure as the week unfolds she will find a place to call home with with a group of women she will be proud to call her sisters.
