I had a “connection” in that my aunt was a “top house” at another out of state school. So that doesn’t make me a legacy and I didn’t know anyone at UARK before I came here. However, I had all the qualifications for a “top house” (ie 3.8+, personality, attractive, put together, great pics, rec, letters of support, volunteer hours, active in high school, leadership positions, awards, etc...) I felt I had a great conversation with girls I met at open house but I was cut the first day. You cannot tell me that they didn’t have their pledge class (with the exception of 5 - 10 girls out of 1700+ ) picked before rush even started. I was very surprised I didn’t even make it to the second round. So unless you are a legacy or an Arkansas girl there is very little opportunity to go a “top house”.
