The thing to understand about GPA is this: we are looking out for the good of the chapter. Houses are not just picking for this year or this semester - our goal is to have members who will be here all four years, graduate and become supportive alumni. One of the biggest reasons members drop is grades. If a pnm has a lower GPA in HS it is a safe assumption that she will struggle more in college. Most people notice a drop in gpa in college just because of the learning curve, being away from home and not having the relationship with professors like you might have had in a smaller high school class.
