Some students change schools. Some drop due to finances (school and/or sorority). Some travel overseas for a semester or two of schooling, then decide to take alum status from their sorority affiliation for other pursuits. If you look at the overall graduation rate for those who begin as freshmen, within the overall student body only a certain percentage graduate within 4-5 years. Some sororities even allow seniors to go on early alum status, as that is what some sororities consider the best lifelong journey for their members. A lifelong, real sisterhood has the possibility of all life's ups and downs. We and the sorority life are not perfect. So sorority women can and do drop out, and most who drop remain lifelong sorority members. There is no shame in that part of sorority life.
