Houses that don't make quota during rush or ones that have fewer than a certain number of members (the number is set by Panhellenic each year) are able to extend bids outside of fall formal recruitment. This is called Continuous Open Bidding (COB). When you get to campus next spring, you can contact the Greek Life office to have your name given to any houses that are eligible for COB. There is no guarantee any houses will be doing it though. Usually if there are just 1-2 spots open because of girls graduating early, those spots go to friends of active members. If there are more spots open, then the chapter will have some invitation only informal rush events before extending bids.
