Right before fall 2011, every fraternity except sigma nu was forced to leave the row due to finally caving into threats of eminent domain. Then in spring 12, sig nu lost their charter and was forced to leave. Then in August 2012, the vacant buildings were torn down. Currently, what used to be alpha drive is now empty land. Zoning laws in Tempe allow fraternity housing, but that requires the owner of the building to want to go through the process. This is much easier if the building is owned by alumni or nationals. The complex FIJI resides in was zoned as a fraternity house.
