I’m a senior at ASU. I have to say I have no regrets not joining. I have friends that are in a mix of different so called “tier ranked” sororities and they are constantly complaining of cliques, mean girls, drama and trying to fit in. They never talk about sisterhood or philanthropy. It’s basically a status thing. Girls want to out do each other on Instagram. You can’t be yourself. In reality, having a sorority on your resume isn’t going to make a difference. Everyone knows the reputation at ASU. I’ve been involved in different clubs, worked and have done summer internships all related to my degree and received a great job offer and yes I’ve partied and have gone to frat parties. Tbh. I’ve seen more damage done to girls (mentally and emotionally) that have joined sororities vs those that hadn’t joined. It’s sad that girls feel that joining a sorority is the end all be all of college life. None of that matters when you graduate.
