Girls- Here's the truth from an alum. 1. If you're on this site. Get off this site. I'm SO glad I didn't know about this when I went through recruitment. 2. Here's practical advice that aren't ranking related- think of the structure of an org. If you go in and dresses are somewhat mismatched and decorations are homemade and videos seem genuine, that's likely what you'll find in a sorority as a whole. If you go in and everything is elegant and proper, same thing. Think about the kind of person you are. If you thrive on structures and rules (and trust me sororities have a lot of them) go for one that you think you would do well in- aka one of the ones where every dress matches to a T. If you like to kick it back, maybe wear sweats to chapter go for the groups that have a homemade vibe. Half the reason people drop their sororities is bc they didn't expect to have so many rules. Each sorority has the same rules. It's up to the execs how strictly to enforce them. If you get rowdy, something like ZTA isn't going to be for you or you'll be at standards every week. But if you like structure and every eyelash never being out of place, CHI O wouldn't be a great fit. See what I'm saying? 3. And FINALLY, looks are so varied throughout an org. Just bc you're a top tier, doesn't mean an AOPi can't steal your man (I've seen it before). Your favorite frat may worship ADPI & DZ alike (seen this too). The cutest T shirts and funnest trip planners and innovative shot makers (all things I value from my sisters) may be in CHI O or AGD- top, middle or bottom.. it doesn't matter. YA NEVER KNOW! Give it a go. See if there's at least 4 women in your pledge class on bid day you may vibe with and if so, those may be your life long pals.
