The reason greek rank is so toxic is that the self ranks from girls in chapters are not honest. Of course, hyping up your chapter is great and such, but the self ranks always leave out the bad/negative parts of the chapter, basically misleading people to make their chapter seem all sunshine and rainbows. Every chapter has problems, some worse than others, and sadly none of that will come up during recruitment because it would make girls not want to join if they knew the truth about some chapters. Try to have real convos with girls and ask honest questions and see the responses. The answers you get and the vibes from the girls in each chapter can help you see how real they are or not. Other chapters bash self ranks also because once you're in a sorority, you'll find out a lot of the tea about chapters, thus why self ranks are looked down upon because everyone knows the real truth behind chapters.
